Overview
Cyber Nyte: Social Engineering
When: 6:00pm, 26th June 2025
Where: Online
Cost: Free
Social engineering remains one of the most frustratingly successful tactics in an attacker’s toolkit. And let’s be honest, it’s not about poor training, it’s about being human.
This Cyber Nyte session is a chance for cyber and IT professionals to step away from the tech stack and talk people. Expect frank discussions, war stories and space to explore:
- Why even ‘trained’ teams still fall for social engineering attacks.
- What really works when it comes to awareness and behaviour change.
- How to build a culture that doesn’t rely on everyone being on red alert, all the time.
Less of a lecture, more of a therapy session with peers.
- Led by Norman Stevenson, Incident Response & Threat Intelligence Manager at the Cyber and Fraud Centre – Scotland
Who will be joined by:
- Cieran Smith, Cyber Security Engineer at KubeNet
- Jaipal Reddy Aenugu CISSP, Founder & CEO of TechForce Cyber
- Luiz S., Cyber Security Consultant at Bridewell
- Rebecca Roberts, Director in Public Law at Burness Paull LLP
- Location: Burness Paull, 50 Lothian Rd, Edinburgh EH3 9WJ.
- Time: 6-8pm.
- Refreshments available.
